Former Chair of IICSA (Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse)
"Since acknowledging safe receipt of your interim report. What I can say is that the scale and magnitude of the cruelty and depravity of the events so graphically set out in the report is utterly appalling and beyond heart-rending. The report is cogent and compelling but is also succinct and to the point, which is important. I realise compensation will not be the only - or necessarily the primary purpose - of the work. Nevertheless, acknowledgment of criminal wrongdoing against defenceless children by financial redress as well as by apology and the provision of ongoing remedial support, will be very important for the SOSA survivors"
